"Please don't post shallow dismissals, especially of other people's work. A good critical comment teaches us something." "When disagreeing, please reply to the argument instead of calling names. 'That is idiotic; 1 + 1 is 2, not 3' can be shortened to '1 + 1 is 2, not 3." https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html

It’s absurd on its face. There’s nothing of substance to dismiss or disagree with. You’re not a gatekeeper.

Ok, but in that case it would be better not to post anything—not to add an additional post that lacks substance. I don't know what you mean by gatekeeper but I'm a moderator here and it's my job to tell people this stuff and try to persuade them to follow HN's rules: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html. In case it helps at all, such moderation posts are even more tedious to write than they are to read. https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&sort=byDate&type=comment&query=tedious%20write%20read%20by:dang https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&so...
