  Amazingly, compared to the joke in https://www.gnu.org/fun/jokes/ed-msg.html https://www.gnu.org/fun/jokes/ed-msg.html, my copy of vim is about twice as big as Patrick's alleged absurdly large copy of vim in 1991 (plus it uses 17 times more space in support files).

    Actually, he’s talking about vi, not vim. You’re a whole ‘nother rung up the ladder with vim.

      That's fair, since I could still run various more traditional vis and they'd be significantly smaller.
