LLMs are linguistic mirrors, after all.
- p-e-w 4y agoWe have no idea what they are. Their emergent properties remain unexplained, so soundbites like "linguistic mirror" are like saying "brains are organs, after all".
- cosmojg 3y agoIndeed! I've actually needed to say "brains are organs, after all" at a few conferences and presentations. In both examples, the statement is meant to be grounding, not revelatory.
