I agree that "Folks (at Facebook) are certain..." sounds right, but less sure about "Facebook are certain...". Why is "folks" the right way to think about that

I agree that "Folks (at Facebook) are certain..." sounds right, but less sure about "Facebook are certain...". Why is "folks" the right way to think about that? Why is it not "Mark (Zuckerberg) (at Facebook) is certain..."?
