It has always been slow for me, too, but 1.2 introduced some particularly bad performance regressions. The new version couldn't handle files that 1.1 handled okay. I wanted to report this, but the project uses GitLab's issue tracker. I recall being unable to sign up for a GitLab account using a throwaway email address at the time, so I couldn't report the problem, or even add information later on to the bug reports that others eventually created. The project really should make it easier for users to contribute bug reports.
