Russian warplane accidentally bombs own city
- somedude895 4y agoWhat am I looking at? There seems to be a fairly small impact at first, and then a huge underground explosion later. Some sort of bunker buster? The delay seems quite long.
- r721 4y agoHere's one theory: https://twitter.com/RALee85/status/1649344016209649667 https://twitter.com/RALee85/status/1649344016209649667
- h2odragon 4y agoI don't recall seeing any other reports about the Russian Air Force except those talking about their absence from the war so far.
- FartyMcFarter 4y agoDo you mean that this was probably an Ukrainian attack?
- meh8881 4y agoThe Russian Air Force has been very much active. They have not achieved air superiority because their planes generally cannot deal with anti air setups. But they’re still using planes and helicopters frequently.
- The_Colonel 4y agoRussian air force is used mostly as a platform to launch such stand off missiles from afar - from Russian territory or sea.
- yawpitch 4y ago“Accidentally” really needs to be in air quotes there, as in the phrase ‘[Insert Putin critic] “accidentally” fell through an 8 story window.’
- dennis_jeeves1 4y agoCorrect, a lot of "accidents" just happen...
- DoItToMe81 4y agoYeah they just bombed a random street corner and then immediately admitted to it, uh, for TEH EB1LZ clearly. This makes a lot of sense and is definitely how the world works. I shouldn't have to remind you that cartoon villains are not real and only exist in cartoons.
- meh8881 4y agoFalse flag attacks are very much real and are pretty well documented in this very war. They are generally not well executed and come off as very obvious. At least by Russia. This incident does appear to be an accident however.
- yawpitch 4y ago> I shouldn't have to remind you that cartoon villains are not real and only exist in cartoons. True, cartoon villains aren’t real… of course in the case of Putin we’re talking about a verifiably real villain, so not entirely sure what your point is there. Also all we know right now is that the brass said it was merely Russian military incompetence that happened, rather than an intentional act, however motivated, by the pilot… though I’ve got a funny feeling he’ll trip out a window before speaking up I’d really like to hear from the pilot, because — I dunno about you — but seeing a Russian military leader admitting a mistake just seems fishy on its face.
