Anecdotally, my latest COVID (acute only, I didn’t get the director’s cut) manifested itself as two days’ worth of strong pain in what seemed to be my legs’ muscle tissue, which I believe is connected to high lactate (why limbs hurt after heavy exercise). This symptom never accompanied a flu IIRC, though I recall it happening in the past after alcohol intake.
