Can't repro on 9.3. The exit status is correct with "WARNING: {{N}} computed checksums did NOT match" but the individual file status shows "OK" for failed files.
9.3 has 3 test suite failures with:
env RUN_VERY_EXPENSIVE_TESTS=yes make -j check
