Stochastic parroting is not in itself a route to AGI. It has real limitations. Mr Beck's assertion that grown means that we _will_ be surpassed in this matter is I think, not necessarily correct. We might, but I see it as unlikely, not inevitable. This is simply because the growth rate is never constant for ever, it tops out.
