> My father was an accountant for a large corporation with a flimsy jr college degree. He had that job for 44 years. Impossible pulling off that feat today Less than 10% of Americans had a 4 year degree at the end of WWII, and less than 50% of adults had a high school education. In the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man in king, and all that. Compare that to today, where over 35% have a bachelors (over 50% have “some college”), over 90% have a high school diploma, and nearly 10% have a PhD.
