This is a misleading graph. Not a single doubt about it. The fact that it is a few years behind does not change that fact. They knew what they were doing in 2019 when they published it. The science of misleading graphs has seen very little change since that "old" time.
Yes they improved, but pointing out this chart is of public interest and interesting.
- neom 3y agoCambridge defines misleading as: "causing someone to believe something that is not true" - given all the information is present and correct, it would more accurately be defined as poorly formatted. Now taking a screenshot of a graph, not defining the year, or providing any additional context, is misleading. Additional, as a Canadian who is well versed in the work of Mr Hopper, I'd go so far as to say he's being deliberately misleading.
