The TV tax is just that, a tax. A weird, oddly specific tax with its own weird, oddly specific tax enforcement department. But that's all it is. A tax. And yes, most countries with taxation collect taxes with threat of force.
- whywhywhywhy 4y agoIt’s not a tax, it’s optional. It’s a subscription pretending to be a tax with a fake organization as it’s enforcement arm. That’s why it’s called “tv license” not “tv tax” and doesn’t feature on any of my tax documents.
