The Origins of Creativity
- jschveibinz 4y agoInteresting piece of writing that asks some important questions about creative nonfiction, but then takes a right turn and ventures off into the weeds of I.Q., creative qualification and other socio-political musings. With respect to the first part of the article, I believe it is important to point out that even what we believe are facts are instead just impressions. Our minds are our memories are not perfect. (Even sensors like cameras can’t fully record the reality of a moment.) We only get rough interpretations. Storytellers, writers and journalists can try to explain an event/concept/position without embellishment, or with plenty of embellishment. Either way, it’s still just a story. The creativity is for the entertainment of the reader.
