If I as a parent object to a drag show at my kids primary school, I am certainly not doing so to be mean to a trans person or want to deny them from being who they are.
Instead, I am denying them a platform to influence my innocent and impressionable child to become that, which in a free society they are welcome to do when they're of age and understand what they want. But I won't allow the possibility that this thing is steering them into an unattural direction. This is indistinguishable from targeted brainwashing and I won't know if it's because they are actually like that, or if it was because they got brainwashed during their early years.
- shadowgovt 4y agoYes, woe betide the brainwashing that tells our young people that... They can do whatever they want that is not harmful to others. Definitely not a message we should be inculcating the next generation with, right?
- zo1 4y agoI don't understand what you're saying exactly?
- shadowgovt 4y agoThe "unnatural direction" that people dressing counter to their gender is steering children in is the knowledge that there are things people can choose to do that are unconventional but ultimately not harmful. It has never caused anybody harm if a stranger has chosen to wear a dress or pants, or apply more or less makeup to themselves. It's not really a bad message. If anything, it's kind of the hacker ethos.
