Ledger – Hardware Wallets for Cryptocurrencies
- peter_d_sherman 4y agoI like the idea behind this device! The idea is that you have a simpler piece of hardware (theoretically more transparent, theoretically more secure, theoretically less "attack surface") than a smartphone -- and you use this piece of dedicated hardware to store crypto keys and other crypto related things -- OFF of a smartphone. That's a good idea at its root... So, is Ledger any more secure than a smartphone? I don't know; I haven't tested them; I have no experience with them; short answer -- I simply don't know... But I like this idea... I like the idea of simpler hardware storing crypto secrets... I think there's a definite market here; and I yearn to see what other companies (and individual open hardware creators) can/will produce in this space in the future...
