Why would people feel threatened leading machines smarter than them?
- elmerfud 4y agoI find that there's a lot of people who are threatened by leading people smarter than they are. Why is there so many toxic bosses? Well that's the answer.
- version_five 4y agoIgnoring that machines can't be smart (as Lecun knows full well), Most people do feel threatened leading people smarter than them. It's a very rare leadrship quality to be able to defer to "subordinates" and genuinely accept that they know more. It does happen, but it's far more common for people to feel threatened and at best defer because they think they don't have time but could themselves do better than the subordinate given the opportunity.
