I love the idea of using a Raspberry Pi Pico to attach (with some glue logic) to the Apple II bus/backplane... The possibilities of a card like this -- could go far beyond simple VGA emulation... It should also be possible to create old PC-compatible ISA/PCI bus (as opposed to Apple II bus) cards using a Raspberry Pi Pico, with a similar method... With an FPGA or other device that speaks PCIe as an interposer, it should be possible to create such a card for a modern PCI Express PC, as well...
