  Chances are at this moment you can already buy hundreds of ‘counterfeit’ models at AliExpress. ‘Counterfeit’ as again chances are these have just as much of a license from Apple as these, none.

    I’d be really curious to read an HN-level apology of the Aliexpress counterfeiting. Not implying you’re advocating for it, just wondering if someone would read this comment and feel compelled / know of a good pro-Aliexpress knockoff culture / industry. Well except for “it feeds people in China / gets consumers cheaper products”. I mean anything that goes past that, in ethics also.

      Is it really counterfeit if the original is unlicensed as well? It’s like Steve Jobs complaining Microsoft stole his ideas for a gui, and Bill Gates answering Steve stole it from Xerox and is angry Bill did as well.

Neat idea, the wallet I use daily is a similar form factor and love the nostalgia factor. What is vegan leather though?

  It's any material resembling leather that is made without any animal byproduct.

    Typically true, but not necessarily. I saw one of those emerging technology videos that presented a vegan leather that was made out of mycelium - the thread-like stuff mushrooms and other fungi spread underground or throughout decomposing food. Apparently that stuff looks and feels a whole lot like leather itself once processed for this purpose. I think in this case though, it literally is plastic. Remember when the word 'pleather' was the in term for plastic "leather" ?

Looks really fun and neat, but it's probably impractical as all hell. I was gonna say that if you wanted to get reactions from an in crowd, a more practical way to get them would've been the OS X T-shirt from Cool Shirtz (https://twitter.com/coolshirtz/status/641923217460858881 https://twitter.com/coolshirtz/status/641923217460858881) but looks like that's not on sale anymore. Apple Inc. lawyers on the case?
