How does listing the song lock up our culture?

• autoexec 4y ago
That song is a part of our shared culture and it's already locked up by copyright law. Adding it to the library of congress is nice, since works included there are preserved and are freely available to some people, but ultimately while those works are recognized as being culturally important, access to those works is still artificially restricted and so the vast majority of Americans will not benefit in any way from it's inclusion.
