Russian T-90 Tank from Ukraine Mysteriously Appears at U.S. Truck Stop
- h2odragon 4y ago> “The transmission went out on the truck that was hauling this big old trailer,” No kidding. What's that sucker weigh? They must have waivers and permits and all that fun stuff. Or something to show the cops that will make them go away. I remember helping plot routes around weigh stations when moving construction equipment long ago, and that stuff was fluffy lightweight toys like bulldozers. Getting nailed over weight limits was a big and expensive thing. Also: finders keepers. if i can drag it home its mine
- petertodd 4y ago> What's that sucker weigh? According to wikipedia a T-90 is about 46,000kg. Though this one was demilitarized to at least some extent, and probably stripped of some parts, so it is likely less. US federal law limits big rigs to 36,300kg typically (truck + load). Though there are ways to legally carry larger loads in certain circumstances. https://www.freightwaves.com/news/how-much-weight-can-a-big-rig-carry https://www.freightwaves.com/news/how-much-weight-can-a-big-...
- anenefan 4y agoDepends on what sort of dozer - D9s, even the older models were towards 50 tons. I'm unsure where transporting bigger dozers by road start to more trouble than it's worth in the US.
