> Because PBS is commercial-free, many people mistakenly believe public funding provides the bulk of our resources. In fact, federal funding provides only about 15% of the revenue for the public television system.
To me the label seems within the realm of reasonable descriptions.
- bediger4000 4y agoHow much of, let's say, SpaceX revenue is US government? How much of Lockheed-Martin's revenue is US government? Does that make either of them government-funded?
- logicalmonster 4y agoIf they receive government funding, then yes to me, they are "government funded". Is there a better label than government funded? Possibly, but it seems within a reasonable distance of accurate.
- bediger4000 4y agoExcellent! The entire US aerospace industry, including SpaceX, is government funded! Every single "corporation" in that industry gets more federal funding than NPR!
- logicalmonster 4y agoOk, great. They're all government funded.
