Adding to this, I am having flashbacks of having to buy an expensive programming device for my old truck to replace simple components because they are coded to a serial number. This is also like Apple devices that require reprogramming to avoid the use of stolen parts. This sounds like it will be easy for actual thieves to get around and a PITA for the legit owners of the devices. No more self repair, everyone will have to take this thing to an authorized service tech and if that is truly the case then the firearm should be priced much lower as their money would be made by service contracts.
