Yea people on here get so worked up about coding interviews lol, if you were a successful competitive programmer I am going to be very likely to hire you, just like how I'd be very likely to hire a Google SWE with 10 yoe. Its just another signal of aptitude, its not some magical catch all heuristic. However, people here suddenly expect like they are allowed to forget all the (very fundamental) basics and get into a job that involves coding without any coding at all. Now that leads to a bad hire.
