Does anyone else suspect that this shut down was not as "voluntary" as stated? Now is the moment in history where people need to speak up for the protection of their rights on the internet, and before the culmination of these struggles has even begun, btjunkie is throwing in the towel? Do they know something we don't?
- pyre 15y agoI'm thinking that the idea of jail time instead of just an un-payable debt (after a long civil suit) could be a deciding factor.
- alan_cx 15y agoAh, I just made the same point, ish. Should have read further before posting. I think this is a reaction to megaupload and perhaps an unofficial nudge. This might be the first of a few, or many. The "authorities" are simply scaring people off the web.
