I am happy enough paying $20/month. GPT-4 is better. That said, I usually use the APIs (I have written 3 books that have OpenAI API examples; my own coding projects, GPT-3.5turbo with Emacs bindings, and I also pay GitHub for CoPilot with Emacs integration).
I have a larger personal project using GPT-4 API, LangChain, and LlamaIndex that I am currently obsessed with.
