We deal with this problem by having allowed words for each banned word.
- alkonaut 4y agoBanning or replacing words is bad enough but at least doable without (usually) too many bad side effects. BUT it requires among other things that you know the input language. I know a lot of very normal swedish words that are very dirty english words. Banning or censoring subsections of words though as in "Scunthorpe" is basically not possible to do correctly even in theory. I have no idea why it's even tried.
