I'm wondering about the future of repair parts outside of Apple's official channels. I'm thinking the supply chain and assembly outside of China will be worse for independent repair shops in the West.
- hindsightbias 4y agoI doubt there is even a supply chain outside of China. Thais are just going to be assembling Chinese parts? My Mac and iPad aren’t filled with Thai or Vietnamese parts. For all the propoganda about what a supply chain genius Tim is, I think it’s 99% Chinese hard work building it all. It’s been 7 years since we started sanctioning China. With $150B cash sitting in banks, what supply chain has Tim been building?
