They don't own undersea cables. They invested in one and it's not stated how much. And yes I'm comparing google with hetzner as answer to the op to tell him that cloud is more than just cheap compute. I'm trying to explain why people pay a premium for cloud services and what the difference is. And I use and like hetzner a lot. I'm happy to use hetzner for plenty of things just not for everything.
