Not really, because a "sale" would traditionally be for a specific version (or a version and patches for that version at best).

- JohnFen 4y agoPerhaps I misunderstood the OP, but isn't that exactly what he was doing? That's how I interpreted "it didn’t auto-renew and you could keep using the last version forever".
