Ask HN: I'm looking for a cheap M1 laptop. Any suggestion?
I need an M1 Mac computer for a project. I'm only going to use it for this project so I rather not fork out the full retail price. Does anyone have any suggestions?
- wmf 4y agoBuy a refurb or break into a car in San Francisco.
- GianFabien 4y agoOr just hang around seedy pubs and somebody will try to sell you one - real cheap.
- linsomniac 4y agoIf you are only going to use it for a short while, buying it and then re-selling it should re-capture most of it's value.
- nvy 4y agoDo you need the actual device or just access to its compute? Services like Scaleway offer Apple Silicon as a Service. No affiliation, just the top google result. https://www.scaleway.com/en/hello-m1/ https://www.scaleway.com/en/hello-m1/
