Are Apple Silicon Macs so good we’ll need fewer upgrades?
- PaulHoule 4y agoI am still running an Intel Mac Mini from 2013 which was relatively lousy in various ways, is not getting MacOS update anymore, but it is still running strong with an Intel SSD. I just built a monster tower PC with AMD's latest but I am in no rush to replace the mac.
- melling 4y agoIsn’t there a tool that lets you get the updates? I can’t get the latest Xcode either. Other than that, my 10 year old MBP runs great. I’m holding out for the M3 chip.
- LapsangGuzzler 4y agoApple already figured this out with iPhones. I can easily see continuous hardware specializations that are tightly integrated with new OS features to stabilize Mac sales and incentivize shorter device lifecycles.
