  Imo it can be useful for authenticating records, especially in a global context where you might not have access to any local authentication routes. Like if you’re hiring a remote worker who went to college in some small Bangladeshi university, it’s not straightforward to authenticate their degrees. If the record was somehow on the blockchain, you could authenticate it even if there was no local infrastructure in Bangladesh to route your authentication demands.
