A rational reason to dislike pornography
- thaanpaa 4y ago"Because it builds on an instinct to search for and use psychologically abnormal behavior among opposite-sex individuals to one's own advantage." I believe the writer's premise understates the complexity of the issue. People's sexual preferences and behaviors vary, and not all pornography involves abnormal or unethical behavior. The vast majority of publicly available pornography today is consent-based, though there are undoubtedly ethical concerns and instances of non-consensual content in the industry. It is critical to recognize these issues. However, it appears that the writer's argument is an oversimplification; not unlike suggesting that war movies are inherently wrong because bad things happen in wars.
