The main issue Sean had was lack of experience. I am probably one of the only crazy people out there that a) love BeOS on PowerPC hardware, b) have a few compatible machines still and exclusively run BeOS PowerPC on them, and c) am actively trying to port Retro68 (well, when I have time) to make more modern software for BeOS PowerPC. I helped him to get the original success video to happen (I made him a custom R5 image with a mini MacOS 8.1 bootstrapper on it - this is what he demo'd in the first video where he got BeOS running.) I want him to succeed because it brings more interest to BeOS PowerPC.
His failure this time was hardware (BeOS is picky about PCI cards on a Mac), USB - there is no USB at all under PowerPC, and Intel binaries (they end up doing the "open in"/"no app to open this type" functionality he saw.)
