Any model of reality except reality itself is lossy. A model that can fit inside a human brain is extremely lossy. The only thing that differentiates between models is usefulness, but that is debatable too, if you consider short vs long term effects. Be careful what you wish and all that... So we could all use a little modesty when it comes to the models that we build inside our heads. On the other hand, a model which you know is flawed will never drive you to act stongly. So a certain ammount of faith in what you believe is required for action and implied in that is the rejection of opposing beliefs.
