As Tech Jobs Disappear, Silicon Valley Veterans Reset Their Careers
- gregjor 4y agoTech jobs aren't "disappearing." A handful of big tech companies have let a lot of people go, people those companies apparently don't need. Those companies overhired for a variety of reasons and now find it easy to lay off because every other company in their stratum does it too. Plenty of companies still have job openings and will now look more attractive to people laid off from "big tech." Entry-level tech jobs, hard to get for a while now, will get increasingly scarce. Companies can pick up more experienced/accomplished candidates with less incentive to take a chance on someone fresh out of school or with no real experience.
