I really passionately hate that car companies get away with making their service manuals so incredibly expensive as to dissuade owners from performing their own maintenance. It should be criminal. Manuals and official documentation should not be charged for by manufacturers. If there’s a cost to making them, then include it in the price. Fuck these bastards.

That seems like a weird regulation to make. As long as costumers know what they are getting in to, who are we to judge their decisions?

  Consumers don’t know. It’s the same reason we don’t let children enter into legally binding contracts.
