This is super cool! Curious what is the advantage to carving from glued wood laminations rather than carving from solid wood? Is it just more consistent (i.e. you control where the knots are)? I know nothing about woodworking - apologies if this is a silly questions.
- robto 4y agoI imagine the advantage is mainly in cost - getting a chunk of walnut that large is going to be many times more expensive than getting the boards necessary to laminate the same shape.
