Cordyceps Zombie Twitter still stumbling around, killing shit. How long can this take to play out?
- kranke155 4y agoIt’s missing the part where we go to twitter being acquired off Musk for a price around the same as be paid for, perhaps lower, theVerge and VOX articles on “How Musk failed at Twitter”, and the fund that acquires it somehow combines BlackRock and the Saudi Fund, and then they myspace/tumblr it.
- jacooper 4y agoTrust me, all they have to do is just make jack the CEO again and leave it alone, it will be totally fine.
- janosdebugs 4y agoHonest question: with the amount of debt Twitter as a company has, how?
- jacooper 4y agoOh forgot about that, yeah that's a problem
- weard_beard 4y agoOr live journal it. I’m sure there are a lot of countries interested in the corporate communications between Twitter and the US government. Hell, a lot of the US government still uses twitter. It might be a treasure trove for almost any foreign adversary. In addition to simply crashing the company for profit.
- imnotjames 4y agoWho in their right mind would pay 44 billion for Twitter?
- hennell 4y agoNo way anyone buys it off Musk for what he paid for it. It wasn't worth that when he bought it, and he's only lowered it's reputation, advertising income, market position and internal abilities. Not to mention the various legal suits over Musk's firing "process", the rent / building use and whatever other lawsuits that keep popping up due to Elons "don't find anything out about this before making a big public decision on it" approach. I'm not sure how all the debt for purchase plays out, but I'd guess Twitter will be one of those things that ends up being sold for $1 (+billions in debt)
- ElfinTrousers 4y agoI think they were being facetious. I think.
- x0x0 4y agoimo: We'll see a big inflection point this year when the fines start arriving (FTC consent agreement violation and EU DSA are both queued up) and the lawsuits for screwing ex-employees start getting to phase where it's harder for Twitter's lawyers to stall them. The whole thing is comedy gold, and he just reinvented free verification [1] to prevent Obama from being impersonated.
