I’m no bike zealot like some here, but I make it a point to avoid the subways as much as I can in favor of biking around Manhattan. The only time I venture underground is when it’s pouring rain. Even dodging cars, I find it a much less stressful experience than the subways. I fully understand this isn’t for everyone though. And not just because of cars.
