MacBook Pro is crashing it, but battery not so much

Macbook Pro is crashing in terms of performance. I have Arc, Height, Figma, Whatsapp, Telegram, Spotify, Cron and Notion open at all times yet there is not even a single glitch in the performance. I bought a 32 G ram though so that should be the reason. However the battery lasts for around 6-7 hours with these programs moderately used and even less when I am coding. That is far less than the promise of 16 hours. Anyone having the same issue or are my expectations too high?
