Cancer and heart disease vaccines ‘ready by end of the decade’
- mhb 4y agoAnd approved by the FDA by 2040?
- eb0la 4y agoTwo down, only Alheimer left... by now. (Lost Friends and family both the hearth disease, cancer, and Alzheimer - would kill to eradicate all from the face of earth)
- noworld 4y agoYou forgot the Z.
- throwayyy479087 4y agoI completely agree, but also agree with their priority - almost all humans will die of heart disease, the remainder from various cancers or kidney failure. That said, Alzheimer's is the only one that I've discussed with my wife - I'm not going through all that. Absolutely taking MAID in that case.
- 0x486566e7279 4y agoThis is the moonshot govs need to be funding.
- realjhol 4y agoThey'll need that to combat all the myocarditis brought on by the COVID vaccines

- KyeRussell 4y agoI’ll save everyone the trouble of looking at your post history and just summarise here: I saw you complaining about “feminists”, and overuse of the word “Nazi”, without even having to scroll. Go take your vaccine skepticism culture war somewhere else.
- realjhol 4y agoNoone asked you to summarise, especially when it involves straw manning and casting ad hominems. My own mother had 5 vaccine doses, still got COVID and now has myocarditis.
- toomuchtodo 4y ago> Burton said :“I think we will have mRNA-based therapies for rare diseases that were previously undruggable, and I think that 10 years from now, we will be approaching a world where you truly can identify the genetic cause of a disease and, with relative simplicity, go and edit that out and repair it using mRNA-based technology.” Truly the future is within our grasp, and more resourcing should be going into genotyping and statistical analysis of those results to maladies, so we're ready to tweak mRNA vaccines to target those genes/SNPs. Spell checking the genome, and skate to where the puck is going to be.
- rcarr 4y agoCame here tonight to see what HN thought of this, people working in the field, bullshit or not?
- Buttons840 4y agoHeadline mentions "heart", but the word does not appear in the article. How will a vaccine fix plaque buildup? Or fix plaque breaking and causing strokes?
- kritiko 4y agoPSCK9 inhibitors are already on the market. "Injection that greatly lowers your cholesterol" seems kind of like a "heart disease vaccine"
- qgin 4y agoAssuming this plays out, I wonder if the anti vaccine subculture will react to it. If we get to a place where avoiding vaccines essentially means leaving yourself open to cancer and heart disease, how many people will still hold fast vs change their mind?
- bediger4000 4y agoMy guess would be that some smallish percentage of anti-vaxxers would hold out, but the bulk would have no problem. A lot of the anti-COVID-vax and precautions seems very particular to COVID, and I think related to Qanon beliefs becoming mainstream.
