Where are you getting this number from?
- smoldesu 4y agoThe logic that you need a smartphone to pay for an Uber or Lyft? It's not an exact figure, but there aren't many families that can afford Lyft but not a rental. If you have the means to sign up for rideshare services, you can probably also sign up for ChatGPT on your own. Nevermind the fact that most drivers wouldn't care. If they're chatty, they'll cut out the middleman and talk to you directly. If they don't want to speak with you, they'll be quiet and leave you to whatever you want to do. The only people who would offer ChatGPT mid-ride is some annoying, overenthusiastic tech nerd who I'd probably ask to be quiet anyways. It feels like OP's question is more about whether this will ever be considered normal or socially acceptable. The answer... probably not. You could ask your Uber driver to ChatGPT with you today, but that's about as patronizing and blasé as asking the Subway worker to pause while you ask ChatGPT what it wants on it's sandwich. It's antiproductive and dehumanizing, not to mention redundant for people who actually want to use ChatGPT. Service workers are not prompt generators, hopefully those god-awful food service harassment videos on TikTok convince people to find better hobbies.
