  I don't know if this will help at all (probably not), but it's mostly about trying to avoid repetitive arguments. Things get less interesting as they repeat. You're still a valued user!

    I know it is hard being a forum BDFL and it's expected that we will not always agree. Seeing a lot of unsubstantiated medical advice during the pandemic was just very hard for me, especially when hearing it from a "smart" place like HN. For better or worse HN tows the line on US-style free speech of letting bad but eloquent actors promulgate their ideas for fear of censoring the next Galileo.

  Here is one of the rare places you have the choice either to ignore your ideological opponents in favor of vastly more interesting things to read about; or to ask in a spirit of humility them to explain their thinking and have a good chance of getting a thoughtful answer.
