When I had a break-in, they came within an hour or so and apologized for taking so long. It was a weird experience after hearing complaints like yours for so long. There was no suspect or anything, I didn't have good evidence, I did not expect them to solve anything because that would be an unreasonable expectation. They gave me a report number to give to insurance.
