Tell HN: Google Play policy checker is broken
Did Google start to use ChatGPT or something to check for policy violations in Play Store? My app got violation claim stating that it contains content that doesn't comply with the Misleading Claims policy. Great, more details are provided:
"Your app doesn’t provide a clear source of government information, or its description lacks an easy-to-see disclaimer stating that the app doesn’t represent a government entity."
Now, for the punch line - this sentence is included in my app description:
"This application does not represent a government entity."
I have nothing more to say, as this is the last time I'm uploading anything to Google Play Store.

- butz 4y agoThey are asking me to add statement to the Play Store description. But description update is rejected, because current description does not adhere to policy. And even when I had updated description, they still sent me a letter stating that updated description is wrong. And they even included the compliant (updated) description text into email.
