I'm curious how confident you are that all hospitals in the state are listed in the OSM database. In my experience, the point of interest data in OSM is highly variable, with many being totally absent. I know you mentioned a few mis-tagged hospitals, but did you look for missing ones?
- wcedmisten 4y agoI don't have a great data source for hospitals to cross reference, but I suspect hospitals are better represented than other POIs in OSM. Hospitals generally have very large and distinctive building footprints, which means "armchair mappers" using aerial imagery can still map them. If I was looking at clinics, I believe this would be a bigger problem, because they're indistinguishable from other retail businesses in the aerial imagery.
