University Choice Advise
Hello,
Hope everyone is doing well.
I would like to ask your advice.
I have been accepted for a master in electrical engineering at TU DELF , and I have also applied for the same master at EPFL.
Which in your opinion offers more? And can also open more doors for you in the future
Many thanks
- RGamma 4y agoPlease stop choosing university based on alleged status games. You're there to educate yourself and broaden your horizon, I hope. We do not want to become like the US system, do we?
- pelop 4y agoOf course I agree with you that is why one of my main factors was not the overall rankings, but I tried to ask my self what opportunities will arise for my career later on. I dont have experience in the European universities as I am studying in the UK currently.
- mamonster 4y agoEPFL Graduate(but in mathematics): Seriously, don't bother unless you want to work in Switzerland. I have no idea about TU DELF, but EPFL is basically "random uni" status if you want to get hired outside of Switzerland(and some select countries). At least that was the case when I graduated. Also, not sure if mechanical engineering is the same, but EPFL/ETHZ is known(at least in hard sciences) to have more emphasis on depth as opposed to breadth in terms of teaching. Last point: Lausanne is not a cheap place to live.
- pelop 4y agoThanks for your opinion really appreciate it Yeah I did applied to EPFL cause why not but I had in mind that it will not be cheap. I was just wondering if the investment will be rewarded
