This must be fear mongering propaganda. Nobody "injects" mushrooms
- gus_massa 4y agoAll the story looks unrealistic: > But the cultures also report that it’s not just bacteria floating around in his blood, but fungus too, specifically Psilocybe cubensis, meaning the dark web-bought mushrooms Gavin micro-dosed by injection were not only laced with cyanide, but they were now growing in his blood, shutting down all of his organs again.* The cyanide side story is too weird. Why did they add cyanide? I remember reading that it's difficult to get a dose of cyanide that is harmful but not lethal. The bacteria side story may be realistic. If the moron injected with bad hygiene, it may be possible. Perhaps get that bacteria in particular is more difficult. The internal fungus side story is weird. Each fungus grow in specific conditions, my guess is that this fungus don't like growing in blood. > This must be fear mongering propaganda. For me, it looks like fear mongering linkbait.
- rcarr 4y agoI'm of the same opinion. Why would anyone think any kind of tea is meant to be injected? Where would he be getting this advice from? If he's heard of microdosing for depression, if he can go on the dark web and buy magic mushrooms, then surely he's done a standard google search on magic mushrooms and how to microdose them. And absolutely none of the results are going to say: brew a tea and inject it. Also: > He carried on this occasion for a few days. > Around the fourth day, Gavin brewed his mushroom tea as usual, shrugging off the odd smell. First, mushroom trips last about 6 hours. Second, it's a well known fact that psilocybin loses its potency if you keep having it on consecutive days. You're meant to wait at least four days between doses if you want anything close to the same intensity of trip as when you took it the first time. This is why there are no psilocybin addicts. You can't get physically hooked. Either: - This entire story is made up. - He was sold another species of mushroom. Because why would a dealer put cyanide in their mushrooms? It's not like they need to cut mushrooms with anything like they do other substances. - Injecting mushroom tea has really bad and weird effects on the body.
