A guy made ChatGPT4 CEO of his company
- scanr 4y agoI suspect we’re going to see a lot more of this kind of thing e.g. this is currently at the top of GitHub trending https://github.com/Torantulino/Auto-GPT https://github.com/Torantulino/Auto-GPT I’m not sure it ends well.
- mdrzn 4y ago"With over 50 requests to invest in our new company, we had to filter for serious replies and ticket sizes that actually justified the time handling legal docs." Why would someone invest in a random company with no real products and no real future? Is this something normal in USA? Should I launch a shopify with GPT integration and get a few $M in fundings?
- nico 4y agoIt is a real company that already sells product and has tens of thousands of dollars in orders already, as well as a brand, a following and a community. If you can get millions (they had 4 million views by day 3), of people to get excited about what you are building, it doesn’t matter too much what you are building, people will want to invest.
- mdrzn 4y agoNone of that is explained in the blog post. Looks like he's just setting up "the idea", let alone have already shipped a product. If he collected "preorders" that's a different story.
- nico 4y ago4 days ago they were at 400 orders: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/joao-ferrao-dos-santos_gpt4-ai-contentmarketing-activity-7047235245674295297-Lz4g https://www.linkedin.com/posts/joao-ferrao-dos-santos_gpt4-a... What are you talking about?
- wand3r 4y agoAt first I thought this was a dumb novelty stunt. I guess, I still think it is but at the meta level this is probably what is happening for dozens (hundreds) of companies. Likely people are starting small companies and basically intellectually abdicating many decisions to ChatGPT. This guy takes it several steps farther in a pretty weird dystopian living art display; but effectively many tiny companies will be built like this I bet.
- nico 4y agoAlready happening, checkout HustleGPT

- isaacfrond 4y agoIt will be just about as accesible as my CEO. I have a subscription, but the service is maddingly overloaded. Often you can't get in at all, or if you can response will frequently give errors. Data fails to load, network error, etc. Judging from reddit, I'm not the only one it seems. I'm considering cancelling as it just brings headache. ChatGpt-3 works like a charm, but is considerably less helpful.

- nico 4y agoIt is not an April fools joke. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/joao-ferrao-dos-santos_people-kindness-familyhome-activity-7048697400428826624-nXPH https://www.linkedin.com/posts/joao-ferrao-dos-santos_people...
- seydor 4y agoAI-run and AI managed companies are goign to attract a lot of workers in tech and services. workers will naturally choose a company that well defined objectives and values and that can prove with their metrics that they follow them. It will be the new Remote
- Ancapistani 4y agoJust wait until people start realizing that this is one of the original visions for Bitcoin (and hence, cryptocurrencies generally): autonomous agents, refining their own algorithms, competing in a global digital marketplace to provide services to both humans and computers alike. I, for one, look forward to the day that the descendants of the first CEO-as-a-Service provide leadership and guidance that's objectively superior to human CEOs for just enough compensation to keep the instances running and perhaps spin off a couple of genetic offspring. I'm not sure if I should add a "\s" or not, because I'm not sure if I'm being sarcastic.
- seydor 4y agoBitcoin is too rigid because it can't respond to economic cycles. But an AI-powered digital coin that is optimized for the specific goal of growth may be.
- Ancapistani 4y agoYeah, I agree - Bitcoin in its current form is unsuitable.

- nico 4y agoWhy was this flagged? Are people trying to block ChatGPT news or something?
- tsunamifury 4y agoAs someone who works with chatGPT many hours a day and applies it to his startup, it can be an incredible resource when used correctly. However this seems to be the most superficial application of the technology. He does little reasoning with it, little optionality. He hasn’t primed a ceo agent or constrained it in any meaningful way. It’s not hooked to anything. It seems to be more along the lines of “make a magic 8 ball my ceo” then use its advice to just coach me being ceo. To be clear I think you can do something like this and it will work, but gpt vanilla isn’t the place to succeed with it. What I’m building and using is a lot more like “cast 5 of the top CEOs based on their historical thinking and writing — then give me advice on x problem”. It seems to work a lot better as you get to participate in a human nodal walk to the decision by processing it through several “ceo nodes”. In the you make the call, not some weighted zero shot machine.
- gremlinsinc 4y agoI'm building a tool to do just that too, something people can use without knowing what lang chain or haystack or llama index are.
- tsunamifury 4y agoFocusing more on the outside linkage or the constrained personas?
- gremlinsinc 4y agoI'd say more focus on outside linkage, currently. For instance I want to be able to have it to basically strategically 'find' all the docs for all the packages an app uses, load that into it's long-term memory via weaviate. I figure I'll piggy back off existing models for the moment, until my startup takes off - the immediate intrinsic value is creating an easy system to build agents and agent teams, with some sort of workflow/pipeline system. Potentially something like langflow that is drag/drop etc... My first few use cases are: - Dev support docs/coding and orchestration (trying to create specific bots geared towards PM, QA, Code Reviews, etc, for better reflexion). - Creating an expert on your personal marketing workflows, for instance creating contracts, quotes, and pitches for web dev services, or some other freelancing/consulting business. - Creating an CEO in a box that can basically run a business by itself, with a little help from underlings. This might be cool for worker co-ops especially, that want to act a bit more autonomous and 'fair', if the AI truly sets pay/benefits/etc with some input from employees, it might be a lot better than current systems. Or just having an Ai that's got all the writings of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and business school text books, paul graham essays, etc, and can essentially handle a lot of the business aspects for a business when the real person behind it is more technically inclined, and doesn't know how to get investors/etc, or put together a basic business canvas. The tool should be malleable enough that it can fulfill all the above use cases and more, but these are kind of my first tests (as there are customers waiting for these specific features already).
- hunglee2 4y agoWhen you think about the role of a CEO, it is ultimately about making risk / reward calculations in an incomplete data environment. Of course AI should be able to do this better - it can ingest more data and make more accurate projections. The only thing missing is the 'inspirational leader' part but that's presuming there remain human workers left to that need inspiring.
